Hi! Please get in touch if you have any questions and for information about current/future research experiences, see the Research page. I am also the K-State Geology Graduate Program Director and I'm happy to talk to prospective students about our geology program. If you are a prospective graduate student applicant, note our program does not offer Ph.D. degrees.
My geologic interests are broad, but primarily lie in the fields of igneous petrology, volcanology, tectonics, and economic geology. These interests are focused on understanding: [1] how magmas form and are modified; [2] relationships between volcanism and tectonism; [3] temporal, spatial, and mass relationships between magmatism and precious metals and critical minerals; [4] physical volcanology of silicic magmatic products and their eruptive systems; [5] volcanic stratigraphy, including tephrostratigraphy.
